Thank you for your application to the 2026 Study Abroad Program. The outline below 
describes the financial requirement of being a part of Study Abroad.


Cost of Study Abroad Program: $3,318


This cost covers airfare, room and board, transportation while abroad, and program-related entrance & 
activity fees. It can also include other costs as described by program faculty.


Payment Schedule: To make the cost of the program more affordable, an incremental payment option is
available for those that want to make payments as outlined below. The total amount paid is the cost of 
the program. Payments can be made throughout the year, or in total up front, or using our payment 
plan.

  • Payment Schedule:
    1st Payment (Deposit) November 15 - $500 (non-refundable unless the program is canceled)
    2nd Payment December 15- $1000 (covered by Lone Star College scholarship if deposit is made)
    3rd Payment January 15 - $500
    4th Payment February 15 - $500
    5th Payment March 15 - $500
    6th Payment April 1 - $318

*Payment plans can be customized.

Students who receive a study away scholarship ($1000) will have that amount applied 
as the December payment after they have submitted their non-refundable deposit.


Additional Costs: The amounts below describe additional costs that are associated with 
Study Abroad. These costs are on top of the cost of the program and are not included in 
the amount above.


1) Tuition and Fees Visit LoneStar.edu/tuition to get an estimated cost of your classes. 
The Base price for In-District tuition is $111 per credit hour. Tuition and fees are 
separate from the program fee below. Students must register to take the CHEM 1405 
study abroad course (4 credits) or the GLBIS 2041 study abroad course (0 credits). 
Student can also opt into the PHED 1164 study abroad course (1 credit), if needed. 
Students will be placed in the appropriate course(s) based on which course they were 
accepted to.


2) Other Expenses costs may include $500 Approximate. Includes Passport, meals 
(snacks) not provided by program, supplies, and personal spending.

Refund Policy:


The dates below outline the refund deadlines. Please note the dates below so that you 
can get a full refund if you need to withdraw from the program. We are not able to 
refund any LSC Study Away scholarship funds. The first $500 of the deposit is non-
refundable, unless the full program is canceled. Hence, the refund schedule below 
applies only to all monies paid after the initial deposit. The $500 is used to reserve air 
flight and lodging and cannot be refunded.

  • Up to January 1, 2025 100% of payments will be refunded (minus non-refundable 
    deposit of $500) Only refundable deposits have been purchased from our vendors 
    overseas.
  • Up to February 28, 2025 50% of payments will be refunded.
    Airfare purchased with ticket assigned to student’s name and non-refundable hotel 
    deposits
  • After March 1, 2025 0% of payments will be refunded unless the program is canceled.
