Thank you for your application to the 2025 Study Abroad Program. The outline below describes the financial requirement of being a part of Study Abroad.
Cost of Study Abroad Program: $2100 (After HIE Scholarship)
This cost covers airfare, transportation while abroad and program related entrance & activity fees. It can also include other costs as described by program faculty.
Payment Schedule: To make the cost of the program more affordable, an incremental payment option is available for those who want to make payments as outlined below. The total amount paid is the cost of the program. Payments can be made throughout the year, or in total up front, or using our payment plan.
Payment Schedule:
- December 15: $300 (non-refundable deposit)
- Jan. 15: $600
- Feb 15: $600
- March 15: $600
Additional Costs: The amounts below describe additional costs that are associated with Study Abroad. These costs are on top of the cost of the program and are not included in the amount above.
1) Tuition and Fees Visit LoneStar.edu/tuition to get an estimated cost of your classes. The Base price for In-District tuition is $111 per credit hour. Tuition and fees are separate from the program fee above.
2) Other Expenses costs may include Passport, meals (dinners) not provided by program, supplies, and personal spending.

Refund Policy:
The dates below outline the refund deadlines. Please note the dates below so that you can get a full refund if you need to withdraw from the program. We are not able to refund any LSC Study Abroad scholarship funds. The initial $300 deposit is non-refundable, unless the full program is canceled. Hence, the refund schedule below applies only to all monies paid after the initial deposit. That $300 is used to reserve air flights and lodging and cannot be refunded.
Up to January 15, 2025 100% of payments will be refunded (minus non-refundable deposit of $300) Only refundable deposits have been purchased from our vendors overseas.
Up to February 28, 2025 50% of payments will be refunded. Airfare purchased with ticket assigned to student’s name and non-refundable hotel deposits.
After March 15, 2025 0% of payments will be refunded unless the program is canceled. In addition to the above, transportation and some activities may have been purchased.
